Young South African designer wins UK’s international fashion showcase award

Young South African designer, Thebe Magugu, who has been described as a leader of his generation and a force to reckon with in the global fashion scene by top fashion analysts and critics has won the 2019 International Fashion Showcase that took place in London. Duran Lantink from the Netherlands and Cedric Mizero from Rwanda followed closely behind him.

The 26-year-old beat 15 other participants from all over the world including Kenya, Denmark, Brazil and the Netherlands to take the envious prize which has since its beginning set the tone for top designers today.

Organised by the International Fashion Showcase (IFS) with the support of the British Council, British Fashion Council, London College of Fashion, UAL and Somerset House, the prestigious program nurtures and presents work from the most exciting fashion talent from around the world and is one of the most applied fashion programs.
